News hits for today

I thought the following were worth mentioning from today’s news:

1. One of my favorite artists, Robert Rauschenberg, dies at age 82.  Oh, and who knew that Rauschenberg and Jasper Johns, another favorite artist of mine, were “romantically involved” (as the LA Times article puts it)??  I always love finding out that favorite people were queer/queer-leaning!

2. Polar bears were finally added to the endangered species list.  This is, of course, despite the Feb. 6th start of oil drilling in known polar bear habitat by the lovely US of A.  Thanks, Bush.

3. CA Supreme Court marriage decision is coming tomorrow at 10 am PT.

So this isn’t really an on topic post.  Unless you imagine that polar bears are the queerest thing around.  They do live in ice, ya know.  🙂
